Zombie Bite Fever
Zombie Bite Fever is a new bacterial disease belonging to Bacillus eibmoz
Disease: Pyoderma gangrenosum
Common name: Zombie Bite Fever
Symptoms:
- Small erythematous papule
- Tender pustules that undergo central necrosis and ulceration
- Ulcer border is ragged, violaceous, and surrounded by erythema
- Severe pain at ulcer site
- Lesions
- Parchment scarring
Pyoderma gangrenosum occurs in about 1 in 100,000 persons each year in the United States. It affects both sexes but tends to affect more females than males. All ages can be affected by the disease, but it mainly occurs in the fourth and fifth decades of life. Children are rarely affected, accounting for only 3-4% of total affected persons.
Most patients improve with initial immunosuppressant therapy. Death from Pyoderma gangrenosum is rare but may occur with associated diseases.
